how do you remove the wheel without the air bag giving you a nice kiss? :lolz:

ive seen 1 in my local srappy and i want it (even though i have no airbag gubbin's), so how do i go about removing it?

disconnect battery, undo the 2 torx screws in the back of the steering wheel, this will release the air bag.. then there is a big nut which you undo. bobs your uncle, freds your barber!!

Yeah, wait about 30 minutes after the battery has been disconnected so the capacitors can discharge. Otherwise the airbag might still blow up lol.

It uses capacitors for safety as if you didn't have one and had a severe enough crash for the airbags to be deployed, but during impact the live terminal was ripped out your airbag wouldn't deploy - talking milliseconds here. So the capacitors hold a charge for a short amount of time.

I know about capacitors as i am an electrician :D :P

Ive never waited after disconnected the battery.

2 torx bits on back, lift off, 15mm for the steering wheel. Job done.

BTW Ive never had an airbag go off, and ive crashed a fiesta twice and it never went off :teehheee:

happened to my mate and he definately recommends waiting half an hour.. Just in case your airbag is actually on guard to protect you :P
