i got a gearbox from a escort for my fiesta, problem is i cant get 1,3,5

i have tried pushing the linkage on further but its not having it, there is nothing stopping it its just that bloody tight after a certain point.

ive tried tapping the knuckle part of the linkage but its still not happening

any idea?

im pretty sure those gears are on the same selector rail....take the linkage off..and put a screwdriver in the hole of the selector shaft the linkage goes onto..makes sense when you do it..if it wil move in and out. then the box is likely not to be the problem..has it been sat anywhere moisture could get in?..U/J on the end of the linkage free? i know when i looked at stunnings his was siezed solid
