Hello All, I'm new here so here we go. I know it's not an Si but, I have a 1993 XR2i 8v CVH and it is running uber rich. Emission test showed the CO at 4.1% with the legal limit being 3.5%, It also hunts on idle a ittle bit and the car feels underpowered and high engine speed, also when going round town the temp auge sits quite low, but on motorway increases to just below the 'NORM'. It is annoying as it is using loads of fuel but not a huge amount of go ![]() |

welcome to fsi alex hopefully we'll be able to help you sort your issue out i didn't think they did an 8v 2i still in 1993 or is it on a late K plate? i think it was the 16v's that were being produced around that time?you got any pic's of the car and engine bay? |

At a rough guess i'm thinking it could be your coolant temp sensor, not entirely sure where they are located on the 8v 2i's tho |

Well, i have an XR2i on a K plate with a CVH in it and it is running well rich. It seems quite underpowered and sometimes struggles to start, also when you turn it on in the morning the oil pressure light works but when i drive to work and stop at the garage and then restart it, the light doesn't light up when you turn the ignition on, it does sound a lil bit rattly when driving after a while. Also the gear lever when you push across to 1st / 2nd doesn't spring back to middle but it does if you push it towards 5th / reverse it springs back to middle |
