Just to check, where is this readline you speak of? If you mean on the rev's they all have a limit. |

Do you mean like in the 1.4 the rev counter dosen't show a redline? and the 1.6 Shows a red line? There was no limiter on my 1.6 so you had to use the red line, and I never got my 1.4 past 5,000 RPM so i'd have no idea if there was a limiter on that model. But I am assuming the reason they haven't put red on the rev counter of a 1.4 is because theres a limiter... This could just be a completely irrelevant answer.. |

my 1.6 doesn't have a 'red line' (on rev counter). wondered why myself tbh |

Post subject: | Re: red line |
lol my old si used to sound awesome going up to 6500rpm. Thats when you hit the red line, so you can do that alright, but obviously ragging your car around alot won't help it too much. and going over it isn't going to help at all ![]() ![]() |

Pah! I think the limiter is set at 7100rpm, sure I read that somewhere!! Mines regularly goes past the redline on the rev counter and the 7 on the dial but I've only hit the limiter once I think! But then I am screaming for an excuse to drop my 2.0 litre in ![]() Paul *edit to change redline to limiter!! Think it makes more sense now ![]() |

Post subject: | Re: red line |
Well what do you class as a "red line" I class it as the coloured in red square on a rev counter, which would be 6500rpm on an si. Then the limiter kicks in.. And that's a limiter to stop you blowing the fucker up ![]() although you might not have a red square on your counter? That's why you think that. Not having a go, which it might sound like, just interested to see opinions |
