Post subject: | help, wheel problems. |
Hi, I have just bought an SI and absolutly love it, the only problem was it has some very nasty alloys on it. I need help with knowing what size tyres I can put on it. I have picked up some nice escort ghia alloys with 195 50 15's on it but have been told these won't fit. Is this right?? Also when I went to get them changed over I was told I need some special nuts to put them on. any idea where I could get these from? Thanks in advance for all the help. Scott |

they will fit someone is talking poo if they said they dont but most people put 195/45/15 tyres on, if your gonna lower your car then go for the 45 profile ![]() |

Yeah mate they are probs taking the mick, i have 205/45/R16 Mondeo Zetecs on mine and they are fine, i had to get 5mm spacers on the front but that's not hard. Also lowered 35-40mm As for the special nut things, i can only guess that they are locking wheel nuts? |

go to a scrap yard they should be able to sell you some ford alloy wheel nuts, thse have little colars around them so they dont damage the alloy wheel when you do it up ![]() and i'd look into getting a set of locking wheel nuts as well |

My old Si was on the same tyres 195/50/15's they aren't a problem but they will scrub at the front approaching full lock, so try to turn corners slightly wider then you would on the stock tyres. |
