today my car has started to throw a wobbly and idle funny first it seemed like it was sticking and now when it idles it just revs its tits off!

right i just had another look and its injecting wayy to much fuel than it should be on idle therefore idling high, what actually on the unit dertermines how much fuel is injected?

fuel injector duration generally mixture between MAF, throttle position, coolant tempeature and Lambda, but idle engine speed is controled by the idle control valve, excess fuel alone wouldnt generally make it tick over high as there wouldnt be enough air, would just run rich or stall, if idling high look at idle control valve first

its a mk3 1.1 so no maf, is the icv the cylinder shape thing next to the injection unit?

all fixed, cleaned the tps out and refitted it also the cylinder thing next to the injection unit i replaced with one i had hanging around and it fitted on better so its all sorted now woop woop!
