Post subject: | Car drifts/pulls to left - NOT WISHBONES |
Hi, my si is pulling to the left. I know everyones automatic response is wishbones but these have just been changed, along with front arb bushes and droplinks. I have bushes for the rear but have not got round to fitting them yet, although i did notice one bracket at the rear has snapped, could this be enough to pull car to one side. If not what else could it be. Chris |

you had your tracking checked? checked tire pressure's all round? the bracket was it on your arb? |

I have had my tracking done, which was out by quite a bit, tyre pressure are all fine, yes one of the rear arb brackets on the left hand/ passenger side is snapped. I didn't know if that would be enough to pull car to one side? It pulls all of the time, slighlty when going along normally, increases when braking. |

Are your brakes ok?maybe ones slightly seized on the left causing it to pull to that side, but increases when you brake? |

I refurbed them not that long ago, but have not checked them recently. Would the brake shoes on the back have much effect, as I havn't looked at them? |

brakes are a strong possiblity. snapped rear roll bar bracket wont be enough to do that, more annoying now as they are not available from fords. another possibility. try swapping your front tyres left to right. i appreciate they may be directional but for one short trip up the road it wont hurt just to single out tyres,is the rear beam on straight. measure hub centres on either side of the car. if the brakes are not binding etc etc etc then there is a strong possibility its been shoved and bent. 4 wheel alignment gear will be the sure way to tell. rear brake shoes may..but they do so little braking its not likely to make the front pull. i had a problem recently were my si kept pulling to the left turned out that the n/s wheel hub was worn quite badly the hole where the wishbone fits had worn to an oval shape fitted new one is now fine maybe worth looking into ![]() |

like jam said swap the tyres around, because if the n/s is worn more than the o/s it will pull to the left. |
