ok so im at work doing my chinky run and i jumped in the car put my foot on the clutch and my foot just slammed to the floor. i drove the car home without the clutch and now i need some advice. is the si a cable clutch. would it most likely be the clutch cable that has snapped is it easy to fix. any help would be greatly appreciated. my si is a 1995 m-reg thanks all |

by the sounds of it its the cable mate try euro car parts mate there cheap & will probley have the cable in stock as for fitting it im unsure as havent done on the fiesta si,best bet is to see where the cable goes into the bulckhead,put string on the new cable when putting it through as it will be much easyer,ive done one on the mark 4 escort so should be near anoth the same if your stuck phone 01530 231100 ask for bernard in the morning tell him your jays mate and he will talk it through with you |

Will be clutch cable, get a Ford one, will last longer than a pattern one and there better greased. Will be around £15 and take 30mins max. If you've got RAC etc, buy one then ring them, tell them you bought the car with one in the boot, obviously not when you ring them when the guy comes, he'll happily fit it as it means he doesn't have to make one.

They should do, its been done before. Act dumb, when he says the clutch cables gone, say "oh there maybe one of them in the boot, the last owner put it in there i remember him saying so". It will save him time either making a DIY one or Towing you to get it sorted, RAC Tech's are useually spot on guys.

how about the automatic adjuster ratchet buggered? if clutch cable has gone should be able to either see clutch arm cable end gone or pull cable through outer lining, if end of cable will only pull through couple inches recon adjuster |

hi all. big thanks to posters. i rang the rac and they done a temp fix. just aswel really as im at my fiance's which is 23miles away from home lol and i have an appointment in southend tomorrow which i cant miss so fingers crossed it holds up till then.

when my clutch cable snapped it took the garage i took it to 3 and a half hours to fix, tbh i could have done it quicker myself lol |
