| Post subject: | Bloody Annoying Noise |
I have a noise from around the alternator belt, I know its not the belt it self as i tightened it today as it was squeeling loads on full lock, this has now stopped but there is another whistleing type of noise from the same area which im thinking my alternator bearing is the cause of. Ive checked the battery to check its working properly and the readings are 13.8 running and 12.9 engine off. does this sound right as i thought it should be a liittle more!! Also this noise continues for approx 2-3 seconds after i turn the engine off. Any of you guys have any info that may help?? CheeRS |

to be honest that sounds more like a vaccum leak....is your charcoal canister plugged in properly? |

as far as i can see it is mate, its going to be serviced hopefull on saturday so will swap the alternator off my old engine whilst the belt is off and see if it cures it.. |

Maybe either your idler or tensioner pulley have decided not too play call anymore and gone? |
