the wire ring/bush/gasket that sits between the manifold and downpipe, how the feck are you meant to fit that? everytime i tried it always sat fat at 1 end thin at the other, and trying to get the springs and bolts on after that was nigh-on impossible. even removed the manifold and still could'nt get it right ![]() |

you talking about the doughnut thingy between the manifold and the downpipe? you got it so the tapered(that a real word? ![]() how have you got the springs? you got them before or after the downpipe if you get me? the springs need to be just infront of the nut so as you tighten it it comresses and forces the doughnut and all the bits towards the manifold and holds it all together do i make sense in what i have said? ![]() ![]() |

hi Tel, yeah i got the spring and doughnut thingy-me-bob got it as u said with the thin end at the downpipe, also got the springs on the downpipe side i'll get me dad to give me a hand next time im down, seems a stupid configuration to me with a gasket made out of a strand of wire but what do i know. |

hmm.. that doughnut thing looks a little different too the ones i've used, the ones from ford look alot more solid what manifold you using again? |

i had this problem not long ago and it done my head in so much i ended up takin it to a garage. could do with the stress 3 hours i spent on it and still nothin!! |

am i thinking of the same part? the flange that connects the cat? 2 bolts with springs on with a circle of metal that helps create the seal!! |

yes, but it connect the manifold to the downpipe on mine as i have no cat. but its the same yes. |
