hi all just a quick question does anyone no if a ecu and loom of a 1.6 xr2i efi model will run a 2.0 conversion as im havin trouble findin a new si loom ecu and pats unit cheers all |

Hi there, Quick answer.. No. the 1.6 XR2i is a CVH engine not a Zetec so you won't have the right connection or ECU for it to run. You need to get either an Si loom or at a push a loom from the Mondeo. You'll definately need a Mondeo ECU either DEEP, DESK or DEWY to get it to run properly. There are other Zetec ECU's you can use but the wiring has to be changed and is very fiddly! Have a quick search on here for the guides they are very comprehensive. Cheers Paul

cheers the loom and ecu i been offered are off a cvh efi model so still has the injection and coilpack so its not the dizzy model so i was hoping to get away with it im findin it hard to find the mondeo stuff as there has been so many conversions done already cheers again |

i know you can use an xr3i loom with only 3 or 4 wires that need to be connected, i shall chat with my mate as we put one in his xr2 that way. Doing it in another mk1 fez at mo too |
