I have just took my car to a garage and asked to get my traking done and they have told me that can not do anything with it because the suspension is to stiff because it is on coilovers? can you do it your self anyone no? and how? |

depends..if you went for a full alignment check including camber angles then it might be an issue, as your ride height will affect that but then adjustable parts come into it. without guages it wont be accurate..its easier to pay someone to do it trust me ![]() ![]() if it was for a boggo tracking check then take it to another branch of monkey fit, the stiffness of your suspension has nothing to do with it. hope that helps |

Tracking doesn't really have anything to do with the stiffness of suspension, it is basically just adjusting the track rod ends to make the wheels toe in or out. Take it somewhere else if they say they cant (or more like "wont") do it ![]() |

my 50p bet goes on fucked wishbones.... either the bushes are perished or split...(check them in a loaded state i.e on the floor via a pit..or a 4 post lift)..or the ball joints are going home.tracking will only become out of adjustment for a couple of reasons. giving kerbs some love or big pot holes..that usually wanks wheels aswell ![]() and just to check. you are testing it on a flat floor and not a road which is either tramlined or has a visible camber..they all camber to the left to allow rainwater to run off but some are worse than others....(dont laugh its been done before!) oh yeah..if its just your steering wheel that wont sit straight check for play in the steering column U/J..never know. Hope that helps. Jam. |
