Hi just bought an si 1994 but i have looked at the bottom of the front bumper and it has started to rust what is the best way of treating it and the best stuff to use as it is not actually the body work but behind the bumper

Clean it back to shiney metal with a power file or angle grinder with sanding disc on then put two coats of hammerite on

i have took the bumper off and there are some small holes does anyone know the best way to fill them

if you cant see the holes with the bumper off i wouldnt bother filling them, just clean em up an slap a load of hammerite on

i am gonna put some mesh over it and fill it coz i dont wnt the rust to come back

the rust shouldnt come back if you clean it up properly and put a few layers of paint on

That front valance is useless anyway. So just treat it and hammerite it. Or just cut the bloody thing off.

haha ok ill just hammmerite it then i thought if rust and holes were bad it would just fcuk the car

It'll only nacker the front valance panel. It doesnt have a purpose really.

do u know bout putting hammerite on paint coz if i can help it i only really want to paint the rust dont really want to sand all under the bumper oh yeah and what should i treat it with

You need to sand it down to bare metal. Treat it with anti rust stuff then slap some hammerite on it. Or paint it. Does your bumper cover it? if so, just hammerite it after sanding the rust back.

Or just leave it.

ive already took most of the bad rust back to the metal i didnt get any primer i wasnt sure how hammerite would like the paint

hammerite just covers everything in my experience!

haha, on any metal that cant be seen, sand to bare metal and slap the hammeright on as thick as poss!!
