Suspension issues lately, when driving in the dry its not too bad, i can hear a knocking from left suspension on a slightly uneven road and when i go over bumps etc. However when i go over a drain i can feel a pull in the steering wheel. Last night driving in the rain and it was awful, was pulling and knocking trmendously on an uneven road down country lanes. Car was handling like sh*t and felt like i was driving a shopping trolley, not a car.
not knowing much about car mechanics, i do understand its likely to be perished bushings on the lower arm. Is the whole lower arm going to have to be replaced on either side with new bushings and balljoints? is this likely to be the problem?
any help please, thanks

New lower arms will have the bushes in them, only standard items mind, but cost a little over £20 for each side as a pattern part, not genuine Ford items. You can get uprated bushes for the lower arms, which means getting them pressed in.

It does sound like a lower arm issue, but get under the car and just have a look! You'll be able to spot if something doesn't look right!

bushings are perished so thats the most likely reason. I have no idea how to change them how long would it take a garage to change them for me?

It's easy to change them mate, but a garage would get them done in an hour or 2, if that. :)

All it is, is a case of removing the hub from the ball joint and anything that's in the way and undoing the few bolts that hold it in. Just take your time with it :)

knocking/pulling has stopped after had new lower arms fitted however the clunking is still exactly the same. Mechanic said strut top is fine, what else could it be left front suspension?
