theres not a belt for that setup. 16v 2i's didnt have power steering. best solution is to find one of those mounts and use that. means you can run an off the shelf belt. the mounts can be a little tricky to find but be patient they are out there hope that helps Jam |

mmm, so i need the pump really to make it work? another thing that is making me frown is the water pump pulley, both the crank and alternator pulleys have "lines2 in them for the belt to run along, but the water pump doesnt, does this not mean that the belt may slip off?! |

think you need the ribbed water pump pully to match too, have a look at this guide about half way through |

the ribbed ones are on fiestas definately and i think escorts. because of the belt setup on a mondeo. the pump runs on the back face of the belt. definately ribbed on an si. my only other suggestion would be to play about with it as is. and see if you can move the tensioner to make it tension a belt you put on. and then measure up the length and find a friendly factors who can cross ref you a belt to that length..or there abouts. only other options are to run power steering. plumb the pump on a closed loop so it powers nowt but wont sieze and throw the belt off...or get hunting for a 16v 2i mount. then it means you can get a standard belt, if you dont want power steering that would be the better way to go. i dont know if this will work but cant you put a power steering pump in but dont connect it up but then you will have the pully and use a standard belt till you can find one of these xr2 mounts and then it will run still im guessing i dont know if that a sesible idea but think if i was doing it and wanted it on road i would try it |
