i know it doesnt matter too much as im getting a new engine but when i stop my cars likes to rev its self and the only way of stopping it is by putting your foot on off the accelerator very quick sometimes you have to repeatedly press the clutch. ive checked the throttle bodie wd40'd it still do exactly the same thing check all my sensors just cant think what else this can be

When you say it revs, does it rev up to a certain point, or does it just rev up to the redline if you don't interfere?

I've also noticed your sig - I find it quite ironic you post problems with your car then have the cheek to say "Jap Crap". :)

lmao!! ye but fiesta are clone to go wrong lol, jap cars are suppose to be reliable

No but a couple of times its revved up to the redline and hits it then comes down again but its only done thats 2 or 3 times, now its going up to about 3 - 3.5k rpm and kindda stays there if you dont interfear it stays there for roughly about 3 seconds then comes down again just whilst your sitting still inside the car dont sound to good when it does it every time you stop. :x

ANY car can have problems. Especially those that have a bit of power running through them to start with...

Anyways, do as has been suggested. Idle control valve seems a likely suspect. Have a check on all the vacuum hoses aswell though as if they're split and sucking in more air they can cause idle problems too. :)

I'd say it's your ISCV gone up the spout in all likeliness :) Cleaning it may have made it a bit better, but if it's shot, it won't fully restore obviously.

As said, if you can borrow one to check, that'd be the best idea. But if not, that'd be my first port of call :)

sounds like exactly the same prob i am having with Si

ive cleaned the MAF wires, throttle body, ISCV, swapped the TPS and now im thinking maybe the ISCV is fooked or it could be the lambda after reading that this can cause issues if its also fooked

im gona live with mine for a few weeks tho as i will be on me annual journey to Severn Valley so it should be sorted then
