Hi peeps,
i'm having a little trouble with the car (as usual),
firstly i get strong random fuel smell when i come to a stop or drive in slow traffic
i've checked fuel lines swapped injector rails tried disconnecting maf, etc..
all the common things, i even checked the sandwich plate and manifold gaskets both were replaced when i did the cylinder head.
secondly and most bizarre, even though i am getting strong fuel smell the plugs are coming out whitish, indicating the car is running lean,
i've tried different throttle position sensors temperature sensors, disconnecting the maf, regapping and replacing the spark plugs, replacing the lambda.
basically all sensors on the car have been check and replaced if necessary, (at least i think i have checked them all)
what i really want to do is plug in a diagnostic tool and read the ECU codes,
however my early Fiesta SI doesn't have the plug in the passenger foot well like the later models.
does anyone know the name of the connector that goes straight into the ecu onto the circuit board
Which i might be able to buy/hire from somewhere and diagnose the problems,
alternatively a wiring diagram to install the connector

Thanks

(on another note, all this started happening when the cam belt broke at low speed lightly damaging a couple of valves but the car was still very drivable, i figured changing the cylinder head for one i rebuilt with new valves, seals and cams should have fixed this problem as initially i thought the damaged valves were the problem, but the problem wasnt fixed and all i've achieved is better compression.... argh)
