Hi all im new to this site. iv jus got myself a proper tidy lil fez si ded cheap n as iv bin into escorts for past 3years im unsure wot brake mods from more powerful fords wil bolt on? iv got n escort gti ready for breakin (due to n evo while it was parked:( ) n im pretty sure the engine will bolt strate in, its currently runnin bout 150 with all 2litre bits on plus bmc air filter, decat n full magnex n chip n in e fez wil be lots of fun, jus a shame my suspension wont go on plus one is bent now so cant even sell em :( also if anyone has any info on the offset i can get away with on 16'' rims wud be much appreciated thanx

welcome to fsi :D

the most common brake upgrade for the fez is either the cossie 4x4 brake set up, these will require spacing to get them to bolt straight on, there is a guide or more info on here somewhere have a search :thumbsup:

or the brakes off a fiesta ST150, iirc i think these bolt directly on with with no spacing require

thanx for the help i fink i kno how to do the cossie 4x4 set up as thats wot i used on my escort jus dint fink they wud go on.if anyone can help wil the 2wd cossie brakes go on with the same amount of modifying they need for the escort as im sure the caliper needs bout 3-4mm takin off the inside around the mounting holes. also wot rear brake conversions are good for the si? any info wud be much appreciated

I really wouldnt bother with putting discs on the back my friend. Not really enough weight to warrant it in my opinion. If you do you will need a brake biasvalve and if its not set correctly u will end up with all sorts of braking troubles. Ive heard of people being wrapped around trees because of rear discs being too powerfull.

Also, big brakes are only good if the tyres can grip!!

jus big brakes up front then, jus thought it wud look abit more serious. is ther the option of having far more powerful brakes upfront compared to the rears n gettin round the bias valve that way?

im sure luke off FT had problems with the back end wanting to be the front end and almost spinning the car around when he did the rear disc conversion, lol really not needed unless your seeking major power hoists!!!!
