Post subject: | Electric Windows... |
Ok so when i bought my Si the drivers electric window motor had broke anyway, and after being made redundant 3 days before getting paid it has been sitting on the drive for 6 months while i got myself together, so today the car starts (just, because it hasnt started too often since september) i stupidly tried the passenger window, which struggled, made a bit of a noise, moved down slowly and it wont move back up again :-| any suggestions? I've tried running the car for a bit to charge the battery to get it to move and it wont, it just makes a little noise, jolts the window but doesnt do anything, i dont know if its overheated and i might need a new motor (£160 new from ford, or rarely at a scrap yard - at least near me they're crap) like with the other one but it doesnt seem the same noise. Sorry it has been so long since i was last on here, still got the same Fezzy with 57k on the clock :-). Thanks Stu |

happened to me 3 times lol. in fairness mine didnt have ford motors when i bought it, but insted some cheap silly things. It sounds like the motor to me - best bet is to tryand find someone breaking a xr2i/si etc on here/ebay - probably get one working in the region of £30-50 i'd say HTH |

Thanks to you both for your replies, when i went to get the drivers side repaired new ones from ford are £160 lol so ive been looking at scrappy's but they're crap from where i'm from really, ebay they're £70 quid so i'll save up but keep looking as well. Managed to push the window up anyway using the white bit on the roller so at least its secure, so now neither of my windows go down lol, damn ford and their advanced technology on a 95 car lol |

![]() You can just swap the motor, but its easier to buy the motor with the regulator. I doubt a scrapyard would even want more than a 5er for one!! ![]() |
