Hi peeps, a technician in college told me it's possible to fit 1.1 pistons to the 1.3 engine, can anyone tell me wether this would work and the power gains?

 Go slap the person who told you that because they know nothing!Size of the pistons and bore of cylinder is different so they wont go in. Thats made my day to be honest.

Well technically they would fit, but they would rattle around in the bores. So, power gains, approx -60bhp  Paul

the best power gain for a hcs engine is to leave it at home and walk lol its realy not worth doing anything to these engines. Just drop a cvh or zetec in |

he's probably thinking of crossflows.........  you can stick 1300 pistons into 1600 engines to gain a fe CC's |

Not so Danny Boy, The cross flow engines up to 1.6 all had the same bore diameter. They increased the capacity by increasing the sroke  http://www.pumaracing.co.uk/cflow.htm Paul

correct 1600 block is just over an inch taller than the 1300 block but the bores are the same, sticking the 1300 pistons in the 1600 block you get 1690cc or summin like that like with the pinto's you can stick capri 2.8i pistons in a 2.0 pinto to get a 2.1 he HCS though is more based around the valencia so everythings higgeldy piggeldy and none of this is possible |

Thats mad lol. I would have thought the diameter was different, didnt think about the stroke! Learn something new everyday
