How long did you run it for? If it felt pretty smooth when you cranked it,get the beast started!!

i was working on my car i did not relise but the timming belt had sliped out wen i started the engine it would on run in its own if i applyed a little throttle ran rely rely dadlly and could idle but did die after 20=30 seconds i did not here no knocking noises i have re-linged the timming belt acording to a hyness manual, i hand cranked the engine and feels and sounds fine im to scerd to run the engine incase i have f**ked it do u gys think it will be ok?? ps its the 1.6 zetec one cam shaft was probs 10-15 degrees out the inlet cam) and the other like 5 i think exsorst) as i said if i did do damage would i have felt it wen i hand cranked it? |

i ran it for like less than a min dont take much to relise that something big is rong lol my dad wont let me start it and i want some steel to make shure that the cam shafts are with in 0.5mm of where they should be |

If you have done the damage, then running the engine already would of done it. If you have re timed it, the trying to start it isnt going to make it any worse |

if the valve did hit the piston then would the engione of run like it did i mean yh it was very choppy but it did manage to idle its self for like 20secoins it soulded like misfire but otherwise the same |

Just start it up, if its nackered and not running right get a replacement engine. Cheap enough to pick up a 1.6 zetec anyway

well turns out i did do at lest 3 valves 3 of my 4 pistons dont have compression so my fult will a 2l head fit onit~? |

A 2.0 head won't fit. It would probably be cheaper (and easier) to just swap the head and block together. |

wots ft ? and at £11 per valve depending how many i need would new ones be worth it ps there is a whole engine on ebay 100 any good? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... TQ:GB:1123 is that the right engine as i carnt see the EFI |

FT = fiestaturbo.com yeah thats the right engine, it looks like its in either an escort or mondeo! you'd need to swap bits from your fiesta onto that engine so that it drops straight in all simple easy bit like:- inlet, exhaust manifold and alt/pas/ front engine mount bracket think thats about it:thumbsup: |

Engine swaps arent hard, plenty of people on this forum have done 1.6 to 2.0 conversions themsevles without ever doing anything like it before  If you think about it, its only bolts a few wires and pipes. Plus, if there is something wrong with the head then whats saying there isnt anything else wrong with the engine? you'd have to get it skimmed, fit new gaskets, new cambelts etc I saw a 1.6zetec in the for sale section for £70 earlier |

perfect time for 2.0 fun! you could do with finding someone that's just converted theirs to 2.0 from a running 1.6. they won't be going back. |
