Right basically it only does this sometimes.. Then if you leave it overnight sometimes its fixed and wotn happen again for ages….. Basically.. When you turn first turn on ignigtion you hear the fuel pump prime then the relay click and it stops. On mine it then primes again constantly with the relay clicking trying to stop it but it just wont?!?!? Its not the relay before people say im not that dense… has it on a hand held fault code reader and it came back to wiring or fuel pump area… but said unknown code and you had to fix the problem you cudent just clear code….. Right….. Do I need a new fuel pump?!?!?! If so where is it and all that.. Got a 2.0 si.. Are they in the fuel tank.. I dunno if its standard or not?!?! Etc etc etc HELP |

sounds like you need a new fuel tank or something clotting it up mate, try running the tank bone dry then have a fiddle and see if anything jamming it if it seems ok then put some engine performance in and refuel if problems consist try new petrol tank all i can say. ![]() |

not sure about on the Si's but i know on rst's if the pump is constantly priming it normally means the fuel system isnt holding pressure (the system needs to be constantly pressurised). can you smell raw fuel? if you can you may have a leak, or even possibly you might have a clogged fuel filter and the pump is working over time trying to allow enough fuel to pass though it? |

im with the above. try a new fuel filter and look for leaks. failing that you might have a wanky pump thats not building pressure or pumping correctly causing the priming fault and thats a tank off job how much effort does it take to start..does it still run..i.e alot of turning over before it fires into life |

fire up straight away but cuts out if you dont hold revs as over fuels..then relay is just clicking loadsss and keepp pumping up the fuel just making the car spit flames |

Id say, change fuel filter, check fuel pressure in rail. ![]() |

glad you have it fixed now mate but i think the lack or red line you now have is all down to which ECU you are running, As the "red line" or "rev limiter" is programed into this by ford, as onslack says some peoples do and sum dont so i think this is to do with the different ECU's you can use. could be rong but try a different ECU and see what happens ![]() |
