I am in need of new front bushes for my M.O.T and have been told its easier to replace the whole wishbone, as my boyfriend is able to do this I'm not getting it done by the garage as I can get him to do it for free :D were looking on a website to order but not 100% sure which one's we need....


Fiesta 1.6i 16v ball joint = 16.5mm top 17.5mm bottom

Fiesta 1.6 (inc. Diesel) 2 pin ball joint

or is it something completely different?

Anyone know how long roughly it would take to remove these things? as he did them on a Clio before?

you need power steering ones, I got mine from a local motor factors for the same price as i could get them online. Non power steering ones are a slightly different size. Shouldnt take more than a couple of hours :thumbsup:

What litre was yours? The only difference between wishbones from what i can see is in the 1.3 models without power steering, all other ones are the same?

did 1.6 Sis even come without power steering?

as far as i know all 1.6 Si's came with power steering, even the 2.0 Si's would use 1.6 wishbones ;)

there are a few differences. some are not as apparent as others.

size of ball joint. varies if its power steering or not

amount of ball joint fixings. si's should have 3 but the earlier ones had 2

and straight or offset ball joint. you wont notice it till you look at it.if the ball joint is on an L ish shaped piece of material then its offset. if its straight its not.

those are the 3 things my factors asked me, and that meant i got the right ones eveerytime ;)
