whats involved in putting it in the car

Just want to use the block as Ive already got a fancy polished ported head and stage 2 cams

what about water pump, flywheel, sump, pick up etc......

any info appreciated

i believe the head will fit straight on to your 2.0silvertop bottom end

Should fit exactly the same as its just another 2.0ltr zetec engine.

The standard ST170 engine just has better internals and VVT (forged pistons etc)

But as your wanting to fit your fancy polished head with cams then you won't have the VVT feature.

Still, it'll be better than a standard 2.0ltr silvertop block.

Same gearboxes fit

So its basically just a straight swap as fair as I'm aware.

edit: maybe have to swap sumps over

Im using the bottom end , and the complete head will be for sale

the sump I think is a baffled item, , Ill take it off and have a look, and if it baffled , Ill just have the ill return line for the bailey breather set up welded in

What about the water pump, anyone know, as Id like to fit the brand new zetec one I just bought and it would simplify the belt and alternator set up

thought the ST170 engine was just a Series 3 (blacktop) zetec with a fancy head, inlet, and VVT? with the bottom end being a normal 2ltr blacktop?
i may be and probably am wrong though.

i thought the st170 had equal length driveshafts from the inner cv joints, and that the o/s driveshaft went through the sump same as on a range rover??

Whats the VVT set-up on it? Is it just a cam advancement on the inlet?
