S2 Pug 106 Rolland Garros 1.4 8v
W reg Saxo VTR 1.6 bv engine

Fitted the VTR engine into the 106, loom all plugged in.. using the VTR ECU..

And the engine is turning over on the first flick of the switch, which it shouldnt do..

So basically the questions are:-

Are the wiring looms different from the 1.4 8v to the 1.6 8v?
Is there meant to be a fuel return from the VTR engine? as cannot find it!?
Will the ECU just plug and play into the 1.4 loom, not locked to anything is it? key chip reader?
Fuel pumps, are they different?

ECU's are locked, either needs to be unlocked or you need the keys from the Paxo.

Fuel pumps - Pass but ill find out
Looms - At a guess yes they will be different
Fuel return - Should be

Ask on 106 Owners, plenty on their have do the VTR swap!

Found out about the ECU's needing to be unlocked..

The wiring for the saxo had 3 connectors or something and the 106 didnt, but hes got it on the 1.4 ecu for now.

Suppose if we ditch the immobilisor keypad, chip key reader and key from the 106 and fit the saxo stiff that'll be fine

still never found a fuel return

If its >2000, it should have the 3 plug loom so it doesn't mate up 100% with the older single plug style. Looks like you'll need to get stuck into the wiring diagrams

all i know is that he has swapped some wiring about to get it running on the 1.4 ecu for now as the car was needed for the mon-friday

i'll tell him to go get rape the paxo for more bits
