Hey, I'm trying to fit my Sub into my car, and I cant find a grommit anywhere to run the wires through from the battery! Does anyone that has a Mk3.5 Fiesta Si with a Sub know where i can find a grommit? Or know how to go about making a hole and the best place for it?

Please help, I got a quiet day today and really want to get my Sub fitted to kill some time :) !

I just came back on here today to post because a mechanic at my work said theres great chance of an electrical fire if i run it through the headunit (sum thing to do with the sub wire being huge and the head unit 12V wire being tiny) Im no good with wires and technical shit tbh...

so wheres the header tank? Id rather run it through the battery and know that my car/life aint in danger... :|

See the red wire from the battery, run it right around the engine bay (as seen), root around behind the header tank and you will find the grommit, get it through and it will be in the drivers footwell, run it up that side into the boot :)

Not really, if you undo the nut which holds the header tank you should have a clear(ish) view of where to put it.

It goes without saying that the last thing you do is connect it to the battery.

oh forgot to add, just incase you did want to know why a thinner wire will not be good its all because of current. take your headlight for example, the sidelight is only a small bulk with a small wattage rating as it only give off a lil bit of light, so the current that the bulb will draw from the battery is very small, then you have your healights, these are much brighter obviously so will draw much much more current so will need a thicker wire for the current to go along. this is why cars use relays, all they are is an electronicly operated switch the trigger wires will be relativly small and this is simply so that you dont have to run mega thick cable all over the car you can run skinny ones with a relay the thick ones from the relay, if you have too much current on too thin a wire the wire will get too hot, melt the insulation short out and BURN and yes it burns FAST ive had it happen trust me. im not trying to make you scared of cars and the way they work, just give them a lil bit of respect when dealing with something you dont know how to do or understand. but it seems that you are cz you havent ust gone straight down to halfords and paid them to do it. (btw dont do that either, a mate had an electrical fire caused by ICE system they had installed a week previously but i wont go into that now)

Ahhh nice nice, yeah I meant to mention an Amp aswell Lol. Ent No good with this technical crap, I just let my bro fiddle around with it. Lol. Ill have a look for the grommit then, if i can't find it is it a bad idea to drill a hole through the foot well, while the car is up in the air in my works workshop and wire it through like that?
