Hey guys its been a while since posting here,
have had trouble with my rs1800 lump since the cam belt broke some time ago, many people suggested that i may have slightly damaged a couple of valves. car runs rich and has low compressions on pistons 1 and 3 and realy stinks of petrol (no fuel leaks found ) all this is mentioned in another thread somewhere..

anyways
i bought an rs1800 head off of sisisisi (although its been over a month and it still hasn't arrived :| )

my current injector rail is fitted with an FSE boost valve adaptor to the fuel pressure regulator hole (the old return pipe is blocked off), however i want to remove this sell it and go back to standard fuel pressure regulation, however i cant seem to get the old fuel pressure regulator back in the hole it just pisses out fuel everywhere so i am stuck with the fse thing untill i get another injector rail with the ford fuel pressure regulator intact, i was just wondering if an injector rail off a 1.6 fsi or escort engine would be the same as the rs1800 i'm wondering if the injectors are the same size and if i can get away with grabbing one from the breakers yard and doing a straight swap (well putting the rs1800 injectors in as well) when i finally get the head and swap it over.

does anyone know if all zetec fuel rails are the same?? thanks in advance

I am sure the silvertop zetec ones are the same, as we used a 1.6 one on my rs1800 originally and I am sure my mates 2.0ltr has a 1.6 one on, the injectors are different because they flow more, but the RS1800 / 2.0ltr ones will fit in fine :)

I would go grab one from the breakers yard from another silvertop zetec fiesta or escort

on another note sisisisisi should get his arse into gear.

if you're after a new fuel rail i have one that came off a 130ps escort, which iirc has the same engine as the rs1800, comes with the injectors... can have it cheap as chips :)

just remembered, i know that some of the fuel rails are different, when we did my 2.0 conversion i had a different fuel rail set up ( late spec escort) and i went to the scrap yard to get some new pipes so i could fit my 2.0 injector rail, got them from a 130ps escort and the bolt on connector was too small for the 2.0 rail, so we had to change the end on it. try and get an rs1800 one or a 130ps escort one if you dont want mine :)

just a follow up to this old post about which injector rails are the same

i bought a set of injectors from an escort mk5 or 6 i think off ebay for a quid and it just so happens they it had the same injectors as what was fitted to the rs1800 lump (the red disk in them)

i've also got a set of mondeo brown injectors on the way also bought for 99p i'm pretty sure they will fit to.,

so i think its safe to say most if not all zetec silver top engine use the same injector rail (i also compared the escort one to my old damaged 1.6 si rail and it was identical (except the injectors of course)

rs1800 rail i took off a siezed engine i changed for someone was the same as the one fitted to their xr2i engine that i fitted back in their car so il confirm that the ones ive seen haev been the same!
you probably damaged the 0 rings on the FPR when you put it back in, did you lubricate em with some spit???
i got spare rails with regulators in em if you want 1 though mate, £2 to you plus postage or free if you come collect but i dont see how ull do that with no car?
only saying £2 for the hassle of me actually taking a lunch break for a change and going to post office for ya. cant see the postage being more than £2 aswell though either

should just be a diaphragm that opens and shuts according to negative inlet manifold pressure and this shuts the return fuel flow to build up more pressure, but hey id be taking it apart aswell just out of curiosity.
no problems though mate, if there anything else you need give us a shout as i do need to start shifting these parts as the missus and i just put a deposit down on a house we want to rent and there ent any space for the trailer so its definably gotta go :( :( :(
