can anyone tell me how many litres a 3.5 si fuel tank is meant to have and what should be the average mpg for an rs1800? just as the escort tank is 45 or 47l so its easy for me to know if its being ok on fuel or not whereas with the fiesta i dont know at all! im asking mpg or an rs1800 lump as thats whats in the car, dam slow at the min though as i think the cat is a bit blocked but making up a decat for it on the weekend ![]() many thanks ![]() |

Fiesta fuel tanks are 42ltrs. But anyways, my RS1800 engine using the RS1800 gearbox gave me the most of 260 miles which was actually 32mpg, which the Ford handbook says it should do from standard. I only ever got this once and that was all motorway in 2 trips one day. My RS1800 was averaging between 180-220 miles per tank depending on how I drove it etc etc Now with the use of the Derv box it gave me 350 miles with mainly motorway run, while this week I have got 310 miles as I have been booting it on shorter journeys to work for the past week. |

ive been driving it really nicely cz i figured the more fuel i save on driving a slower fiesta the more i can have a heavy foot when in the escort, then i took the cat off and half of it fell out so that would explain why it was so slow, i thought jesus the fiesta cant be that much heavier than my escort, but this would be the reason why! made up a decat for it and it drive alot nicer now ![]() |
