cable is about £10-£12 i think, which may be the best case, worse case is clutch is worn and the thrust bearing is now having to move to far forward to activate clutch that it snagging on its sleeving, which will be a new clutch job

hi all. my clutch pedal keeps sticking half way up, it comes up half way, sticks and then pops up moments after. is this likley to just b the cable needs changing or is it worse news, when i got the car the clutch felt sponge and has just got worse. hoping its just cable. anyone had this problem b4? plz helppppp. i have checked to c if the pedal is catching anywhere but its not???? any help would b greatfully accepted. |

have you looked to see if the clutch actuater arm is catching on anything, or lever forward the arm and disconnect the cable and then get some one to pull against the cable holding it with a pair of pliers while you push down the peddle to see if it feels smooth and free, after this if an automatic adjuster fitted may need to put you foot under the peddle to free of the adjuster to reconnect the cable and then push the peddle a few times to re-adjust |

think il try and change cable aswell if its not 2 hard a job. im not the most able mec but im not shy 2 try. if new clutch is needed will i have to get a specific sort or will any go in their? escort, mondeo, smaller fiesta?? thanks for ur help again bud |
