Hi all, trying to figure out how to remove the door lock barrels, there seems to be a circular thing holding them in, but I can't figure out how to get it off and release the barrel?

Hi all, trying to figure out how to remove the door lock barrels, there seems to be a circular thing holding them in, but I can't figure out how to get it off and release the barrel? Picture added to show you what I'm talking about...

twist it to the right  See the slots in the circle bit? they have a little tab of metal poking out at the ends, you need to twist it so these move to the other end of the slot  Get a big pair of pliers as itll be pretty stiff, just grab the right hand edge and yank it downwards as hard as you can  EDIT: SORRY YANK IT LEFT LOL, either push the right side up, or yank the left side down

If in doubt, grind it out! If that don't work, hit it with a hammer. If THAT don't work, hit it with a BIGGER hammer. If that don't work you need a new one because you have ruined it. |
