ok i now have used on my 2.0 converted si a luk 1.6 16v si clutch and a escort standard clutch from a 1.8 gti and they have both lasted 500miles between them im thinking the clamping force isnt enough what have you guys used and yes i will occasionally drive it carelessly when its warm but not excessive plz help i dont want to spend £300 on a ap race style clutch

i had exactly the same problem within a 1000miles with a LUC clutch think they a bit to cheep!! i got fed up with laying on a drive fitting 2 clutch's in a month so splashed out on a £250 HILIX clutch its done me well since but cheaper things are about like

but neva tried them.

LUK are good clutches, if your shredding them either somethings not right!

well its standard 2.0 just with some porting and a trick tb

Sounds like you lot are sticking a new clutch in then giving it death within the first few hundred miles.

when my 2.0 went in, as far as i know my clutch that went in was over 100k , i then had it replaced with a black diamond clutch before fitp( i just wanted a new one ) and its been fine, i give it death

ps still on my 130k+ 1.6 gearbox too

i probably managed it because i like spinning the wheels in 3rd
