b*stard f*cking 15mm bolts that hold rear shocks in..
2 hours later. They wont budge.
been using long braker bars, been hitting them with hammers, spanners, the lot.
not budging.
need them off thursday night due to selling the coilovers friday

b*stard f*cking 15mm bolts that hold rear shocks in.. 2 hours later. They wont budge. been using long braker bars, been hitting them with hammers, spanners, the lot. not budging. need them off thursday night due to selling the coilovers friday

I have a rear beam sat in my garden with the shocks still attached waiting to have a double ARB trick done. I have tried for hours to take them and have given up. Have tried heat, wd40, smacking them massive breaker bars. Just wont shift. Good luck, might be worth taking it down to a garage and getting them to put a gun on it. |

I've got a a 24v Battery Nut gun, took me less than an hour to strip the whole of the suspension of marks puma, you can borrow that if needs be!

if your using a proper breaker bar on it and they wont budge an air gun will most likely, either a) not do a thing if its not an ingersoll or good quality name brand or b) will just snap it clean off, best bet is heat it up first so that its really really hot (have oxycetaline on it for at least 10mins) then do up with the air gun just a quick 2sec blast then switch to undo and it should come off. also may be worth trying wurths rost off ice, it literally does what the german name suggests, freezes the metal very quickly and gives that fraction of mm less grip on the thread, has worked wonders for me at work when all else has failed

problem with heating up I do not want to damage the suspension so I am a little skeptical |

clearly you have never used oxycetaline lol it will only cut though metal if using a cutting tip, use a genral heating tip and it will be fine. you shouldnt damage the suspension tho, just only have the heat on the nut itself and the nut should expand at a quicker rate than the top of the shock because the heat will transfer down the shock and spread out so wont get as hot as quickly. id try get hold of some rost of ice first though if you dont have easy acess to gas equipment, worst case if you still cant do it take it to any backstreet garage and they should be able to heat it up and crack the nuts off for you. off on holiday tomorra though so i wish you luck, and i hope to see a post on here saying you got it off by the time i get back! |

two words. angle grinder, when i went to take the back axel off my dads 2i the bolts were rusted solid so i just whipped the grinder out and slit them off, if you need to not damage anything then ignore me |

o woops, just noticed the topic is nearly 2 weeks old lol.. is it me or are there not many people on this site anymore, i know theres aload of regurlars, i love this site, i dont even have a fiesta si anymore but dont ban my account yet cuz my brother has one lol, his is a black 5dr with sunroof and all electric extras, just like the one i had |
