normal sockets for the cam cover, torx for the camshaft holdy down things, and torx again for the cylinder head bolts, think thats it

hi, can anyone tell me what tools ill need to take the head off my little silver top 1.6 zetec. due to being totally broke i cant afford to pay anyone to do the job ill have to do the job myself so any advice would be massively appreciated. matt |

Torx 55 bit(male end) for head bolts, probs on 3/8 drive as i found 1/2 inch wont fit down hole, and torx45 (male end agen) poss 50 for undoing belt tensioner. think you can use a 17mm socket too. torx socket for cam caps not to sure what size. |

surely you mean female torx bits not male, female bits fit over the head of the bolt same as a normal socket, male torx pieces are like allen keys they get pushed into the bolt head??? (these are needed for head bolts and cam bearing bolts, plus male for tensioner and cam pulleys. also you will need a falt bar of metal at least 3mm thick to hold the cams in place when doing the cam timing. and an engineering straight edge to check the head to see if its warped from headgasket failure, and a torque wrench, sparkplug socket, sanding block, wet and dry paper of a very FINE grade is all i can think of off the top of my head |
