if im going to use a decomp plate do i just need a ford head gasket on each side of it?

trying to get a list of bits i need to get everything done slowly for the ZT

ello mate iv done a 1.8 one before ! get a proper decomp plate from ferriday ! get the non dryin glue! glue the de-comp to the block , use a rs1800 head gaskit !!

Im lead to believe that the Focus ones are MLS (multi layer steel) where as the RS will be the old paper/cork style. And you will need 2 HG no questions asked, it wont seal with out them.

2 hg doesnt work you need to use a special glue to stick the de-comp plate to the block dont use 2 hg it WILL blow thenm out

this could turn into a good discussion, but i do know that it cna be done with bonding the decomp plate to the head

as iirc they did it to the ZT on their site, they were going to supply me with a decomp plate and some form of bonding agent, i think the main reason lukes failed was dude to the fact that his water hose kept failing on him

if you look at his post in the general section he had to drive a few miles without water, because there was no where to re-fill, that couldn't of been good for the HG or the decomp plate

ps. it might not be the best way to do things!lol

1st i've EVER heard of this route and its failed, all the Double HG's one i know haven't!
