Post subject: | Water Levels and temperature sender |
Couple of questions chaps ![]() Where should the water level sit when hot, and when cold? The only reason I ask is when cold its on Max and when hot its about half an inch over max, is this wrong? Am I over pressurising (is this a word!!) the system? Second on my track day when I revved to 6k the a couple of times temperature guage packed up then came back on about 5 minutes later, I believe the sender is at the front of the block near the thermostat is the right? Also is it an easy job to change, ie unbolt the old and fit the new, or do I need to bleed the system etc? Bear in mind my mechanical skills are limited!! ![]() Thanks |

not sure on the pressurising bit, but sounds ok ish ![]() the temp gauge sensor is at the bottom of the thermostat, the temp sensor for the ecu is on the top of the thermostat |

sounds normal to me, sensor take all of 2 mins to change, dont bother draining the coolant, just undo it, have the new one ready to hand and put it in quickly! will need to top up the water but it should self bleed providing you dont take forever to change it and do it when cold obviously |
