Post subject:  running problems with 2.0 MAf

just got my car back on the road after doing some light restoration and modification. while the car was off the road i fitted a 2.0 throttle and MAF of a n-reg mondeo. i have a few problems with the car now tho. firstly the throttle pedal is really far down the compared to the other peadls, it still appears to work but it just makes it really hard to heel-toe brake and im woried i have lost the top end of the throttle. secondly the car has a misfire at around 1250-1500rpm and there appears to be no top-end, with random v-tec style kicks, and a lumpy idle. one thing i can think of as the cause is that i had to use the 1.6 MAF sensor and the 2.0 MAF housing because the 2.0 sensor caused the engine to run really badly, where it ran fine on the car it came from. any help please as i want to make the most of having my car back on the road but at the moment the running problems are making the car a bit of a nightmare to drive.
Also the car is getting really hot unless i have the heater set to the hot setting, which is quite uncomfortable in the weather we've been having. but the thermosat does appear to be open as the top rad hose is getting hot. also the rad fan doesnt work even tho i have tested the fan to prove it works and changed the sensor that controls the fan on the side of the rad.
any ideas guys?

You can't use the 2.0l MAF on the 1.6, throttle body yes, MAF no :) Put the 1.6 one back on.

Zetecs Run hot and with the weather we've been having it will be no surprise that there running hotter than normal! :)
