sounds to me like power steering fluid pipe.
does it run across the top of the engine near the cam belt cover?
this one?

Can anyone tell me what the plug/sensor is under the rubber air inlet hose. I've found a bad case of bodging on the plug and want to know if its important? |

I can't its under the hose. Its conected to a metal pipe, bout 8/10mm the disappears down the side of the engine. |

would be nice with a picture even if you cant actually see it just in the general direction with a ring around where it is under the pipe because it could be water temp plug x2 , crank sensor, maf plug, reverse light plug, fan plug lol think theres not a lot else that side of the engine |

i think rotti got a 1.4, to me that sounds like it could be the ISCV plug, although im not totally sure bout that. |
