Can anyone tell me what the plug/sensor is under the rubber air inlet hose. I've found a bad case of bodging on the plug and want to know if its important?

I can't its under the hose. Its conected to a metal pipe, bout 8/10mm the disappears down the side of the engine.

would be nice with a picture even if you cant actually see it just in the general direction with a ring around where it is under the pipe because it could be water temp plug x2 , crank sensor, maf plug, reverse light plug, fan plug lol think theres not a lot else that side of the engine

sounds to me like power steering fluid pipe.
does it run across the top of the engine near the cam belt cover?
