think standard ST24 alloys are 16" not 17" if so as you currently running 195/50/15's could possibly get away with either 195/45/16 tyres. but if they are 17", TOYO also do 195/40/17's which is about the same rolling radius. but either way would expect you would have clearance problems especially if lowered too!. |

Right mate. First thing to do is work out your existing rolling radius.... 15" rims so 15 x 2.54166 = 38.125cm. Tyre aspect = 50mm. top and bottom wall, so thats 100mm or 10cm So rolling radius is 48.125cm 17" rims.....17 x 2.54166 = 43.20833 standard 48.125 minus your new wheels 43.20833 means you have 4.9166cm to play with regarding tyre aspect. 2 walls so divide your 4.9166 by 2 gives you 2.45833cm......near enough 25mm So to run 17" wheels without cocking up your speedo, affecting your turning circle, causing scrubbing you should be looking at running something like 205/25/17, maybe 215/25/17 dependent on your rim width. IMVHO 16's are a far better comprimise for the road |

For ease I would go 195 40 R16 If you are lowered, or plan to go lower, using 205's can turn out to be fun. Then again depends on the ofset and the width of the wheel.. but most seem to think 16's on a fiesta should be run with 195's, so thats why i went ahead and fitted 205's ![]() |

Well my rims are 7 or 7.5j wide, cant remember But they are off a sierra group a car, so i have to space them out 3mm on front, which gives me a scary gap of 1.5mm from the shocker, and have them spaced 5mm on the rear due to the coilovers I am lowered probably the equivilent of 40-50mm on the front, and between 60-80mm on back depending on my mood ![]() Thats with the arch lips cut off ![]() |
