evening

you say you've checked everything you cant think of, does that mean you've checked for a spark?

sounds very similar to what happened to beck_si's car, but after me working on it for a good few hrs i never found the issue and neither did a mechanic as it worked sweet as a nut for him :?

has it got an immobiliser?

It does have an immobiliser

Whats the best way to check for a spark

It had a slight idle problem when the engine was warm and would drop to 500rpm and sometimes stall

take one of the spark plug's off and hold it near the exhaust manifold and get someone to turn the key as if to try and start it

and check your getting fuel as well, while your at it

the idle problem could be down to your iscv needing a clean

I think there is petrol getting to the engine as you could smell it when trying to start it

Also when the engine went it jolted me forward and rev counter read 0 rpm but I could still hear the engine running and I tried it in different gears wouldn't work and when I pulled over the ignition lights came on as the engine just cut out and I havent been able to get it started since hope this makes some sense

i dont know the part number off the top of my head, if no one has replied with one by the end of the day i'll try and look on the spares i have to see if they have a number on them ;)

if not try and go to the scrappers and get one or take the one thats on your car out and give it a clean it might have to many metal filings on it so it might be stopping it picking up a signal
