Stopped to fill up with petrol on way to college this morning and the lock on my petrol cap broke. I juuuust managed to get home and stuck a screwdriver in the lock and got it open like that, however obviously the lock is now broken. What are my options here? lock rebuild kit from ford or one from scrappy? If I get one froms crappy I will have diff keys, so how hard is it to take the original lock out of the petrol cap and build a new one into it? Thanks, fletch. |

I had the same problem with my mk4 the first time i tried to fill it up. Sods law i bought a second hand "working" cap from someone on FT, which didn't actually work. The 2nd one I bought from ebay, worked perfectly. I got used to using a 2nd key for mine. how much are these lock kits? |

i had the same problem m8 go to a local factor shop and get one just say ur after a petrol cap for a fiesta mk3 thereo nly 3 quid come with keys aswell way better than a genuine one thats what i did m8 |

I did the same for my sister mate got it from camberley auto factors with keys for £5 |

Look on ebay and get a real one. I got mine for about 10 quid with key. |

ford by me (furrows) change the barrel and give you two keys for £15 or they build a new barrel for your key for £30 but it takes a week. obviously i chose the first option. 1 year later and its stiff as a fook. WD40 is needed! |
