Post subject: | revving/juddering update |
Hi all, deveopled a problem ironically 1 week before the cars M.o.t.... basically when i floor it, or even give it a reasonable amount of gas it starts spluttering, very heavily/violently misfiring (in terms of power), and judders to buggery, making me look like a learner bunny-hopping ![]() if i go half throttle up the rev range it's mostly fine, no problems.... it also starts sputtering and struggling at 5000rpm upwards... smells abit but think it's the excess fuel after every exhaust pop.... unplugged lamba sensor....stayed the same unplugged maf... stayed the same one of my wires to the distributor is abit chewed up and does need sorting, but doubt this would be the cause of it? any ideas? andy |

Id put my money on it being your lambda. |

i'd check that wiring out for a start then try any bits out you can by swapping them over make sure all your wires and plugs are plugged in correctly |

Here are the wires going to the plug that powers the Dizzy, think its obvious which one im on about ![]() ![]() ![]() Swapped Maf to no avail.... both Mafs have been recently cleaned anyway so had a feeling it might not be the maf... the juddering seems far to violent to be the maf from my own experience... andy |

Fix that wiring up for starters before it gets really bad. Doesn't look tooooo bacd, but obviously being exposed isn't doing it any favours. Also, have a feel under that coil pack of yours and there's a little L shaped piece of rubber, these are prone to disintergrating and causing a hole in the vacuum. Might not solve your problem as it would cause slightly different symptons, but do it anyway as it might... ![]() Not got a leaking injector or anything have you? Have you had a good look at everything in the engine bay before you buy any parts? ![]() |

how would i fix that wire up out of interest because i was thinking of getting it done today but am abit of a newb with wires... will have a poke around under the coilpack... do you think its most likely a sensor or mechanical causing this? cheers andy |

i'd put my money on this being an electrical/sensor issue. I see this all the time on the 306 forum and it's usually the lambda, ICV, or coilpack. |

but i thought by unplugging the lambda sensor the ecu you use preset settings based on the MAFs reading, therefore it should run normal with the lambda unplugged or no? just wondered ![]() |

with regards to that plug, go to the scrappers and get another plug from a zetec engine'd car, fiesta escort mondeo. and cut off a few inch of wiring with it, then replace the plug completely and solder the wires together than wrap it up in tape. thats what we had to do for my iscv wiring ![]() |
