growing issue: when i accelerate i get a nice whine/light knocking like metal on metal. its loud inside the car and is loud outside the car. loud meaning i can hear it over my stereo. doesnt do it whilst maintaining speed, only acceleration, maybe a bit under deccelaration. doesnt do it if revved in neutral even up to 5000 rpm, only in gear (all gears) gears engage o.k, no crunching, clutch o.k, pulls away under low revs, doesnt slip. im a bit perplexxed??? i though exhaust (as its loose where down pipe meets middle section) but then it doesnt do it when revved in neutral. any ideas? |

Does indeed sound like a wheel bearing. Try turning around on full lock, both ways, and see if it's worse on one side. I'm in the middle of doing the Pulsar's near side front wheel bearing. It's all ready to go back together now, but when I was driving it, it was clicking/clunking with each rotation of the wheel, but mine went away at higher speeds. When I got the hub off and had a look, the bearing was shot to pieces ![]() ![]() |
