I've narrowed my fez to the cat or lambda.
I've had belts/pulleys/ICV/filters/fluids/spark plugs/coil pack/MAF and ECU.
I've spent a couple of hundred getting to this point too, although tbf it needed a lot of what I've done.

Poor Orange Si is hurt. Started first time after sitting for 3 weeks and with virtually no petrol in it

don't rule out your engine being fkd (i.e. low compression on 1cyl).
This happened to me, it used it idle erratically between 500rpm-1300rpm for the few 3-4minutes when starting from cold, and always stalled if you didn't dip your clutch quick enough at the first few junctions....

just a thought. not sure how mine happened, could have been my own doing when I swapped the cylinder head.....

the lambda can actually cause engine damage normally they either give a signal where the engine will overfuel or underfuel run lean that will end up melting a piston or there will be hot spots on the cylinder bores and will eventually burn out the valves

All fixed now, believe it was the ISCV. Gave it a clean and it works now, idles perfectly and drives perfectly too!
