the EGR?

they look like probes (under the heat shield)

youll need a 19mm spanner to remove them :P

I would not have a garage do the job as it is dead easy. I am sure you have a mate who is handy with mechanics and has some tools ? Have a go yourself or get him to do it, if you do it you will save a fortune. It would take me about 30 mins to an hour max to do the job. but a garage will charge about 2 - 3 hours at between £15 & £30 per hour depending on the garage.

Take the rocker cover off mate. Also remove the front-drivers wheel after that and turn the crank pulley bolt clockwise with a 19mm spanner to turn the cams/tappets over if you can't see the ones that are down.

Removed my cover today to have a look for something, was dreading it but got it off pretty easily in the end, just need to refit it now haha.

Edit: It's definitely a dry tappet, I revved mine without the oil filler cap on, it squirted oil out at me and made the same noise
