the knocking noise sounds like a mount.
the other problem is clutch related.
when you fitted new both did you tension clutch cable up?
has yours got automatic or manual adjust clutch?

Mounts are a fairly easy task, you just have to take quite a bit off to get to them.

it's advised to change them both

jack car up and support on axle stands.
remove 'S' Shaped brace from under car
Using a bit of wood on face of jack support the engine weight.
remove the 2x 17mm nuts for gearbox mounts on cradle.
remove cradle
remove mounts from gearbox
fit new ones
secure cradle to box using mounts.
use Jack to postion cradle onto mounting holes and secure cradle.
ensure it is all tight
Fit 'S' shaped brace. make sure the cat hangers are refitted.
lower car etc and away you go

good socket set, axle stands, and jack is all you need, maybe a couple of spanners
