Had these smoked lights on my car for a week or two... then realised I have no brake lights...

Took the bulbs out to have a look... and they had shattered due to the heat (The glass on the bulb is too close to the coloured "lens" of the light clusters (Look at pics below)

As you can see from the pics, the plastic has melted, from the heat on the bulb, where its too close (or even touching) the plastic lens

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

The indicators, tail lights, reversing, fog light etc are fine (probably because they aren't in use as much as the brake light)
