Hi, i am new to the site, had a fiesta si since last year but its bin stuck in the garage. Tryin to get it on the road now however im havin a problem.
When I was driving it the car just started loosin power until it conked out. While this was goin on the batt warning light was gettin brighter. From this I was told that it could be my alternator so I got a new one. Fitted it today however the same thing occured while running it in my garage.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening could it be anything to do with the battery? Please help [/b]

Got a new battery today but when I started the car the battery light was still on.
How do I check if the alternator is working?
Is there anything else it could be?

Diss connecctd the positive while the engine was running and it dies. Changed the alternator for a brand new one last week. THis was off an escort because the car already had one on. It was an awkwad fit but I got it on.
Belt tension seems ok.
