Im really sorry if im asking questions which have been answered already, I have searched through the site and Google and cant quite find what im after!

I recently got given a low mileage solid MK3 Fez its the 1.3 HCS (which definitely doesn't stand for "High Compression Sport")



I want to have a bit of fun with it and drop a 2.0 silvertop in but leave it looking completely standard (apart from some wider steel wheels and obviously some bigger brakes.

I know this is a tried and tested conversion so ive been doing research but still have a couple of questions...

Is it worth it?! How do they go with a 2.0 lump in, i take it the fact they weigh very little helps!?

Can i retain my gearbox for shorter ratios, if so what clutch/flywheel set up do i need?

Do i need to change the fuel tank or lines?


Any help would be apperiated

id say it's definitely worth it. Only been in one standard 2.0l si and i couldnt believe how torquey it was.
couldnt answer on the others bits, but i'm sure someone will help you there!
You'd need a zetec flywheel and clutch, but im not sure how compatible they are with your gearbox. Any ideas which box the 1.3 has?
is it fuel injected?

In short you need many parts of the 1.6 zetec fiesta.

You can keep the gearbox.

Is it worth it, hell yeah! I miss mine so much.

Wow this was a year ago!

Few bits have changed on the car, it managed a charity rally to Germany and back, a weekend in north wales and a trip to Amsterdam. Ive had fun in it so nows time for the conversion, ive had zero spare cash of late due to paying for a weddin which by the way are DAMN expensive

I still want to go down the rat rod/sleeper look so heres what she currently looks like....





I also cant get my head around why there is no rust, which to be honest is part of the reason im bothering, a rot free shell is deffinetly hard to find!





So once again any help with what i need to go 2.0 would be great!
