Hi all, have some questings regarding the 1.6 si mk3.5 i still have.

i went to ford asking for a new thermostat the one they showed me is stamped 92c, the original one i have is 88c.
i checked with ford parts uk who also said the old 88c part has been superceeded by the new 92c part.

so is the 92c stat safe to use? or should i look into getting a pattern part which is considerably cheaper and is 88c but probably a bit flakey on quality?

also are there options for upgraded radiators for these cars? i dont get overheating issues but in traffic the temps gets up to the N and then the fan kicks in, was hoping get a better rad so less heat build up in traffic.

also regarding the Radiator top hose, mine looks like this one:

now i could order the above one in the link but was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to get a better quality silicone one or something?

Bridge the two fan wires with some cable and a switch. You can manually override the fan then. In traffic etc. Put it in the dash somewhere

ahh ok any ideas on the thermostat why ford got a higher temp one now for the car?

also is it possible to get an upgraded rad for the car?
